First I think its important that we once again state- if we haven’t before- the name of this blog is a play on words!  It’s a joke because haters (aka guys) would call us “Jersey Chasers” because we could out talk them in sports… but in real life are goal is by NO means to get wifed up to Pro athletes. I think that should be stated, the name is a pun. With that said, there are some gals out there that do love them some Jersey wearing Hotties (and sadly, even some not so hotties).

Kim K…From Bush, to rumored Christiano Ronaldo, to confirmed Austin, to now… drum roll please!!….. New Jersey Net: Kris Humphries! Maybe sister Khloe finally let her in on the secret to drop the football players and move onto basketball. That tall K-Dash even has a new reality show coming out with her hubby! Baseball Love Connection

A great story comes to us from Oakland, CA & the A’s ball boy.  During a game against the Rays the other day, the A’s bullpen pitchers pointed out a girl in the stands to their ball boy.  Thinking she was cute, they told him that every foul ball he got that night, he should give to her.  So first ball he gets, he points at her & gives her the ball.   He did this three more times to bring her total of souvenirs to 5. The 5th one came from a security guard with a note on it that said “How about a phone number for our ball man, Kevin.”  So she obliged & wrote down her phone number to give to him.

The next day not only did they have their first date but they also got to be on ESPN 3 days in a row.  They went out to eat & reported back to let America know how the date went.  He took her to a very expensive restaurant & the check was picked up by the A’s bullpen pitchers.  Even if it doesn’t work out with these two, what a great story to tell your friends!  Best of luck kids!

 

Chivalry is Dead

The other night at an Astros game, we all found out 1 thing: chivalry is dead.  While enjoying a game with her boyfriend, a foul ball was hit up into the stands & hit this poor girl.  OK she should’ve moved but more importantly, her boyfriend should have tried to catch it & let it hit her.  He dove out of the way instead of protecting her.  As if this wasn’t bad enough, he kept the ball!  At least let her get more or a souvenir then a black & blue on her arm.  He was interviewed after & said he lost it in the lights.  I call BS.  Word to the wise, if you want your girlfriend to come with you to more games do not let her get whacked with a foul ball.

Kim’s New Boo

Well it seems that USC isn’t the only one trying to forget about Reggie Bush. Sexy reality TV star and Reggie’s Ex, Kim Kardashian, has moved on to yet another football player.  Clearly, you can see that she has taken the title of our blog, Literally!  but can you blame her??

Enter: Miles Austin (note to self: keep drool off of keyboard)

Austin is a 6’3, 214 lb, 25-year-old wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. Not too shabby KK. I know Reggie won a Super Bowl, but this new beau is still a winner in our book. In the ’08 season Austin was able  to emerge as a deep threat as he averaged 21.4 yards-per-catch on 13 receptions for 278 yards and three touchdowns.

It’s reported that the couple met the old fashion way, by exchanging numbers when running into each other at a LA restaurant.  After going on a few dates, the two have decided to make it official. And C’mon, Can you blame her?? Lets go ahead and look at him again:

It must be noted that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star was linked with Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, 25. Her last boyfriend was Reggie Bush, 25, running back for the New Orleans Saints, the couple reportedly split at the end of July 2009. And now she is linked up with yet another 25-year-old footballer…… TOUCHDOWN!

PS. Latest Update: Not so much of a touchdown as Reggie and Kim ran into each other over the weekend at a friend’s wedding. VIA Life & Style Mag: “The two came face-to-face at the July 17 LA wedding of her actress pal Khadijah Hagg and his New Orleans Saints teammate Bobby McCray, reports Life & Style”—”Reggie’s been spotted out partying with various new women, both she and her ex arrived solo and spent the reception in their respective corners doing shots with their friends. “But as the wedding was breaking up, Reggie finally walked over to Kim, and they talked for 10 minutes,” says the insider…I guess it doesn’t matter who you are, that is always an awkward one.

 

Date Night: Minor League Baseball

It’s the warmest time of year, which means it’s time for some Minor League baseball!  Why is this exciting?  Soooo many reasons.  If you’re tired of doing the same old thing with your guy, this is an excellent suggestion.  You can find Minor League teams everywhere.  Not only would you look amazingly cool by suggesting you go to a baseball game, but you also get the added pleasure of being given the free pass to look at hot guys run around in tight pants. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Most Minor League teams are affiliated with Major League teams, so there’s a lot of potential for them to eventually be on your favorite team.  As a native Staten-Islander, we have the Staten Island Yankees so I’ve been to many a game there & interned with them for a summer.  While I worked there, I had to drive the players to & from the stadium & 3 of those players have now made it to the big leagues.  So, before you go on your date, you should go do a wee bit of research, to look extra incredible.  A lot of the teams’ websites have “Alumni” sections that tell you which players have played there & are now on Major League rosters, so find one big name & you’re good to go.

Another perk about Minor League baseball? Stadiums are smaller & tickets are cheaper.  You usually can’t find a bad seat in the house & can find tickets sometimes for about $5 each.  They always have promotions to try to get people to come to games & a common one throughout the leagues is Fireworks Fridays.  You can curl up with your guy, watch fireworks & baseball all for a grand total of $10.  What’s better then that?

Rumor has it…

Cameron Diaz has been spotted with none other than Yankee Hottie, Alex Rodriguez.  Diaz and A-Rod had reportedly been an item since February, when they met at a Super Bowl party in Miami. Back in May, A-Rod was in Boston with the New York Yankees to take on the Red Sox, but the baseball star spent his off-hours nesting in a luxury suite at the Liberty Hotel with Diaz.  Sources say, The duo spent most of their time in their rooftop suite, not even emerging for meals. Instead, they shared lots of room service and “had an incredible time together”.

Cameron’s newest movie, “Knight and Day” comes out June 23rd, and its no surprise the press have been hounding her about this budding relationship.  On Tuesday, Diaz squashed the rumor entirely, “No, no, no,” when asked if she and A-Rod were an item.

“In the past three years I’ve made a conscious decision not to be in a relationship for as long as I want. I’ve stayed away from all the traps out there for me to just fall into something that will potentially lead me down the same road…I want to have a relationship with myself right now.”

Hmmm, I guess we will just have to wait and see where this relationship is really going…Every girl knows that being “just friends” only works for so long.

Summer Love

R&B Singer Rihanna and Dodger Centre Fielder Matt Kemp are the newest Celeb-Athlete Duo.

Rihanna is currently on tour and the couple has been separated for 7 weeks. Kemp was on a LA radio show where they played a clip of Rihanna, and his reaction was all a girl could ask for: “Man, I miss that voice. Man, I ain’t seen her in a long time.”

It’s no surprise that her Ex, Chris Brown, might not be a believer in this new love. He calls out the new couple in his song, “Ain’t Thinking about You”: “But It’s All Good, Me and You Finished. She Gotta Ball Player, But A Nxgga Ain’t Trippin. And I Ain’t Saying That He Don’t Love You. But I Don’t Think He Love You Like I Do”.

Chris might want to rename his song because clearly it looks more like, SHE “Aint thinking about YOU”.

What not to wear: BASEBALL

So you have batted your lashes, played the game, and snagged yourself a new hottie. I mean it is to be expected, it’s the summer time. Those summer flings are only meant to last until September, then its back to reality! But in the mean time, you and your new boy have to figure out ways to pass the long summer together:

ENTER: The inevitable, Baseball game date.

Yup, you either loath it or you love it. I’ve heard some girls describe it as “the most boring game ever” (that’s cause you probably don’t get it, but that’s not the point right now) and some girls, like ourselves, know there is nothing better than a hot dog, an ice-cold beer, baseball cap, and some good old fashion heckling of outfielders (depending on your seat location, of course).

Here is a quick guide to get the most out of this experience:

1. Opt for a night game. Listen, its summer all over the US…so depending on where you are it’s either super hot, super humid, or god forbid: BOTH. Think about it like sitting in the sauna with make up on, then going on a date with out a shower… it’s gross. don’t do it. Night games all the way!

2. It’s not a club, So please don’t wear heels. (unless you want to get made fun of, then by all means…). Now don’t go crying that you can’t possibly look cute cause you can’t dress to the 9′s. This is your chance to be low key, show another side, prove that you can be fun and laid back, don’t blow it because you love your new Steve Madden summer wedges, they live to be worn another day.

3. Don’t go over board. Just because it’s the only shirt you own that is Dodger Blue, doesn’t mean you have to wear it. No one is expecting you to come dressed like the team mascot either. Don’t go out and buy a brand new Braves hat, shirt, socks, underwear with matching bra…it’s too much. Not to mention you end up looking like the 7-year-old girl whose dad brought her to the game.

4. Comfy and classy. This should be the rule to live by. You are going to be doing a lot of walking, a lot of eating on the fly, getting up and down in your seat, walking up and down stadium stairs, and if you’re any fun, a fair amount of drinking. So wear shoes that make sense, shorts or jeans ( NOT WHITE!!), a cute (aka not slutty) top, and pretend to forget your hoodie so you can wear his

Follow these 4 rules and you are golden! you and HottieMcBaseball are going to have a great time because you won’t be worried about the ketchup that he just spilled on your new jeans. You were smarter than that!
