AL Central

We’re at the halfway point of our breakdown of the MLB.  Today we will begin our journey west & look at the American League Central Division…

Chicago White Sox: Have not gotten off to a good start this year.  They’ve been a good team in the Central for the past few years so they will more then likely be able to turn it around, but you really never know.  They have one of the most entertaining managers in the game with Ozzie Guillen.  They signed a great pitcher from the NL, in Jake Peavy but he hasn’t been able to stand up with AL lineups (remember, they have a DH.)  Some other big names include Mark Buehrle, Paul Konerko, Alex Rios, John Danks & Bobby Jenks

Cleveland Indians: The best thing to remember about the Indians is their beyond adorable centerfielder.  Grady Sizemore is dating a playmate  & he sent her some steamy photos while he was away & those somehow got leaked onto the internet. I wish I saved them because they were amazing & soon taken down.  They’ve got some other notables but he is the only one really worth mentioning.

Minnesota Twins: They were the AL Central winner last season & they have the reigning AL MVP on their team, in Joe Mauer.  If you remember nothing else from the AL Central, remember Joe Mauer.  Others that are good to know are Justin Morneau, Francisco Liriano & Michael Cuddyer.

Kansas City Royals: Recently not among the elite teams but they do have one of the most elite pitchers, Zack Greinke.  He is the reigning Cy Young Award winner (that’s for the best pitcher in the league.)  The best hitter on that team is Jose Guillen.

Detroit Tigers: Used to be embarassingly bad but in recent years are way better.  This is, in part, because of their first baseman, Miguel Cabrera.  Magglio Ordonez has been a solid player over his career & just recently got his 2,000th career hit.  Justin Verlander & Dontrelle Willis are both some good pitchers whose names are good to know.

National League Central coming soon!
