Oh, To be 17 Again….

Remember when the coolest thing about being 17 was prom and high school graduation?

Last night in the MLB draft 17-year-old Bryce Harper was the top pick. He is now a Washington National. Harper has been a baseball prodigy from a young age. His father worked nights, so day time was spent sharpening his son’s baseball skills. Harper completed 2 years of highschool, and then made the decision to attend a local Nevada Jr. College to play Baseball. Not only can he hit and unheard of 570 yards, he can pitch, and he is primarily a catcher. Although the Nationals have other plans for the youngster: An outfielder.

This is an unreal story, a kid about to enter a world of adults and professionals. He will make mistakes because he is only 17, and let’s be honest, none of us knew what the heck was going on at that age. But at the same time he is already a proven power house and only has room to improve. This will be one guy to watch in the next few years! Congrats Bryce!

Getting drafted is “what I wanted since I was 7 years old,” Harper told MLB Network. “Anywhere they want me, I’ll play.”…… AWE HOW PRECIOUS!
