The latest college football news is: Expansion. The University of Colorado at Boulder has since decided to join the Pac-10, Nebraska is flirting with the Big Ten and is probably going to diss the Big -12, while The Big Ten is still trying to woo Notre Dame. WOW and I thought girls were drama!  With all that said, there is something in the Big Ten that is getting slightly over looked. Purdue is giving its Mascot, Purdue Pete, a very overdue make over. Why you ask?? Because Purdue Pete is a creep and  scaring young children.  Just look at him:

Scared yet??  Athletic direct Morgan Burke, gives good reason for finally giving him some new swag, “Look, I’m the one who gets the phone calls from parents who say that big face scares their 3-year-old. It’s been 25 to 30 years since he got a makeover. At some point, the poor old guy has to come into the 21st century.”

Purdue has hired designers to give Pete a new look, which the school will unveil before the 2010 football season. The school’s official mascot, The Boilermaker Special, remains part of all athletic events, but poor ol’ Pete is gonna be on the operating table until at least September. Maybe we can get some Dr. 90210 out there for em.
