The Legend of Shoelace Robinson

Well, ok it might not be a legend, but its a great story. Michigan Quarter Back Denard Robinson is coming up as one of the greatest QB’s in college football this season. Robinson does things a bit different from your average quarter back, starting with the fact that he doesn’t tie his shoes. Sounds like a major game hazard, but it works for him, clearly. Michigan is going undefeated into week 4. Denard is known in his home town of Deerfield Beach Florida, simply as “Shoe lace”. It all started in Pee wee football because he never tied his shoes, and hasn’t since.

Michigan Quarter Back Coach, Rod Smith, really  has no complaints, “when you watch him practice and you watch him run track and he runs a 10.4 100 meters in unlaced shoes you’re thinking that’s a little different. So hence that’s the nickname, Shoelace. And today, watch him now, he runs with his shoes untied. It’s the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen.”
