You play Basketball, like a GIRL!

Posted: March 7, 2011 by NattieLiz in Lebron James, Miami Heat, NBA

Ya gotta love the Sandlot. Another great quote,”There’s no crying in Baseball!”,  but apparently there is in Pro Basketball. Athletes all have their moments of pure emotion. Most of the time it’s during a championship game where a tough battle is going down. Well this past Sunday, the Miami heat lost to the Chicago Bulls, 87-86.  This one point game, left the Heat pretty upset. Head coach, Erik Spoelstra, told media after that game that, “There are a couple of guys crying in the locker room”.

They have lost four games in a row now to the likes of New York, Orlando, and  San Antonio, and now, Chicago. This comes right after the loss to Orlando, where Chris Bosh had a particularly emotional post game interview.  C’mon ladies, let’s try to pull it together!

Lebron’s Back

Tonight: Heat vs Cavs in Cleveland
Security at the arena has been upped so that people don’t get all CRAZY on Lebron in the city he ditched. They have asked for no “outburst” and no disrespectful signs. Oh come on! there’s no fun in that! Never the less, the crowd reaction is not going to be pretty. It’s like the woman scorned seeing her Ex out with another woman for the first time since they broke up… and to add insult to injury she is still single. (meaning the Cav’s need the W on this as well). But on the other had, there are dedicated Lebron fans who just can’t find it in themselves to hate on their dude. He did give them 7 years of great memories. Hmmm what’s a girl to do? oh, I mean what’s a fan to do??
Watch It! gonna be a good one!

It is not something new for athletes to come into the spot light, shake things up and ask for redemption from fans. Earlier this year it was Tiger Woods, for a much more extreme offenses but in came Nike PR with attempts to save his butt. They still put out the commercial that featured Tiger’s late father, speaking to him basically from the grave. No intelligent person felt bad for Tiger, but its goal to stroke an emotional cord with fans was clear. It made light of the issue and was a straight shot to reveal that even Tiger Woods is only human.

Nike comes at us again, this time to save Lebron James. The new commercial addresses every rumor, every name in the book he has been called, and every issue that surrounded his decision to go from Cleveland to the Miami Heat. Basketball season officially starts tomorrow so this spot debuts at just the right time. Take a look and form your own opinion about the PR tactics of, “The King”.

He’s Just Not That Into You

Posted: July 9, 2010 by NattieLiz in Fans, Lebron James, Miami Heat, Twitter

Girls, we have all been there: He was the man who brought everything to life, he was the beginning and end all, you couldn’t remember what life was like before him, he won over your heart, and promised he would never leave you…and then… HE DID!

Your pain was beyond repair, so you thought you should probably put his triflin’ ass on notice all over your Twitter and Facebook, you know, take the high road. If you have ever felt this pain, you now know what the ENTIRE state of Ohio is going through, when their Man, Lebron James decided to ditch the snow and sweat pants of Cleveland for the Sun and Skin of South Beach.

I took the liberty of finding the best Tweets, pictures, and statements from, Cleveland, Lebron’s bitter Ex. These fans don’t hold back, clearly well schooled in internet trash talking- YOU TELL EM LADIES!

We all know, the worse thing you can do, is tell your Father what your man did to get in the dog house. Well, the Cav’s owner, Dan Gilbert aka Angry Daddy, wrote a letter to his poor broken-hearted fans. It goes a little something like this:

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

Now, I actually think my dad has TOLD ME this next one:

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

And just to really make you feel like you are better off with out that scum bag:

The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Don’t worry Cleveland, there are plenty of Lebron’s in the sea. (Did that sound believable?). OK it’s time for a little tough love: the truth is, there aren’t plenty of Lebron’s in the sea, what can I say, he’s most likely going to be “the one that got away”. It happens, you just have to hit the gym and put yourself back out there! Listen Cleveland, I’m sure there are plenty of guys that would love to be your new King. And you know what? It may have seemed like it at first, but he wasn’t even that into you. I’m just saying that based on the reaction from his new wifey:

MR. 305

Posted: July 9, 2010 by NattieLiz in Lebron James, Miami Heat, NBA

So as every good Miami girl should know, Pitbull is the real Mr. 305, but it looks like he is going to be taking a back seat to none other than.. THE KING!  Lebron James announced Thursday night at 9:27 ET, that after his week-long free agency shopping, he has decided to join the MIAMI HEAT!

Mixed reactions came from fans around the nation. Cleveland fans were devastated and burning jerseys. There were more than a few heartbroken faces in Ohio. Cleveland just lost its favorite son. They cried when the Cavaliers drafted him and are left like many of us when our man decides to go his own way, depressed with the rocky road pint in hand. Knicks fan’s were calling him “THE QUEEN” and Nets fan’s including HOVA poured one out for another missed opportunity. LA fans, out of pure insecurity and pride of their Champion Lakers, were hatin’ the creation of a power team: Lebron joins, D. Wade and Chris Bosh, making them the newest force to be reckoned with. For the most part, true Lebron fans were happy to finally see The King go to a city were he might actually be able to rule the kingdom.

So the next few days will be strictly Lebron. People waited a long time to find out that South Beach was going to be his new home, and they will not let life go on for a while- so just be warned. And as soon as the 2010/11 NBA season starts, fans will be anxious to see if The King and his “Power Team” live up to the hype….. Until then, Congrats, Mr. 305!!!, Let’s head to MANSION and Pop Bottles! DOLCE any one??
