Tony Parker: The Losers Bracket

Posted: November 17, 2010 by NattieLiz in NBA, The Losers Bracket, Twitter

Eva Longoria is no longer a real life Desperate Housewife. The latin beauty filed for divorce today from NBA star husband, Tony Parker. Once again, another athlete accused of cheating. This is a sticky situation as Longoria found her husbands phone filled with text messages from another team mates wife. OUCH. Couldn’t be just a rando- had to be someone elses wife! come guys! your killing us!  But Welcome to The Losers Bracket!

Eva sited that it was “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and is seeking “spousal support” aka a HUGE CHUNK OF CHANGE!

The star clearly had to make it official by going right to the public, Via Twitter:  “It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.”

HEAVY HITTERS!!

Posted: October 21, 2010 by NattieLiz in New England Patriots, NFL, Twitter, Uncategorized

The news around the NFL this week is illegal hits and the LARGE fines players are receiving if they come in for the BOOM! on another player.  The games last Sunday really brought this issue to light. Over the weekend there were 3 HUGE hits: Meriweather, Robinson, and Harrison. Three different teams, three different fines, and three very different reactions. New England Safety, Brandon Meriweather was fined $50, 000 for his helmet to helmet hit against Ravens TE Todd Heap. Meriweather has since apologized and stated that he will “play with in the rules” from now on. Steelers Line Backer, James Harrison, was fined $75,000 for his helmet hit against Browns receiver, Mohamed Massaquoi. Harrison is known to be an emotional player and took of practice on Wednesday to cool off. Harrison was so upset that he even threatened to retire, but we all know, no one would ever back out of a 51.2 million dollar contract.

The NFL is going to start suspending even 1st time offenders for these “flagrant” and “devastating hits”.  The NFL VP of Football Operations, Ray Anderson said,”We can’t tolerate what we saw Sunday…We’re talking about life-alternating impacts”. It seems clear how the NFL feels about this, but what about the players? $50, 000 here and $75,000 there isn’t just petty cash, I don’t care who you are. But the other issue lies in the play itself. Sometimes these hits are not  intentional, So should a player be fined in that case as well? Our New Orleans Saints hottie, Reggie Bush expressed himself on Twitter about the issue, dealing with the fact that a head blow beats a body blow:

Fiesta Bowl: The championship game of the 2002 season: Miami v. Ohio State. Miami loses, from a pass interference play known solely as,”The Call”.

In the first over time of an already nail-biting game, it appeared that Ohio State had lost. It came down to a 4th down pass from Craig Krenzel that bounced off the hands of Chris Gamble in the end zone. The Miami crowd went wild, until the ref threw a late flag and called pass interference on Miami’s Glen Sharpe. OSU scored and won in the 2nd over time.

This Saturday’s game will be the first time since that show down: Miami and OSU will finally meet again. Revenge is in the air. Miami players and fans alike are more than excited to travel to Columbus this weekend and get sweet revenge on the Buckeyes. All of the current players of both teams were in highschool when this game went down, but that doesn’t change the meaning of this weekends match up. All the NFL vets that worked out with the Hurricanes this summer emphasized one thing and one thing only: You must beat Ohio State.

Cornerback Brandon Harris said Jonathan Vilma, Andre Johnson and Ed Reed all spoke about the importance of winning this game, “A lot of them, they’re going to live their dreams through us this week. They realize they can’t go out there and play them again, but we have the opportunity to take them down”. It’s going to be a great game to watch, if not THEE game to check out this weekend.

The Twitter trending topic stands as #beatOhioState

He’s Just Not That Into You

Posted: July 9, 2010 by NattieLiz in Fans, Lebron James, Miami Heat, Twitter

Girls, we have all been there: He was the man who brought everything to life, he was the beginning and end all, you couldn’t remember what life was like before him, he won over your heart, and promised he would never leave you…and then… HE DID!

Your pain was beyond repair, so you thought you should probably put his triflin’ ass on notice all over your Twitter and Facebook, you know, take the high road. If you have ever felt this pain, you now know what the ENTIRE state of Ohio is going through, when their Man, Lebron James decided to ditch the snow and sweat pants of Cleveland for the Sun and Skin of South Beach.

I took the liberty of finding the best Tweets, pictures, and statements from, Cleveland, Lebron’s bitter Ex. These fans don’t hold back, clearly well schooled in internet trash talking- YOU TELL EM LADIES!

We all know, the worse thing you can do, is tell your Father what your man did to get in the dog house. Well, the Cav’s owner, Dan Gilbert aka Angry Daddy, wrote a letter to his poor broken-hearted fans. It goes a little something like this:

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

Now, I actually think my dad has TOLD ME this next one:

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

And just to really make you feel like you are better off with out that scum bag:

The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Don’t worry Cleveland, there are plenty of Lebron’s in the sea. (Did that sound believable?). OK it’s time for a little tough love: the truth is, there aren’t plenty of Lebron’s in the sea, what can I say, he’s most likely going to be “the one that got away”. It happens, you just have to hit the gym and put yourself back out there! Listen Cleveland, I’m sure there are plenty of guys that would love to be your new King. And you know what? It may have seemed like it at first, but he wasn’t even that into you. I’m just saying that based on the reaction from his new wifey:
