Too Little Too Late

Its happen to all of us, the boy that comes back to apologize for messing up. But most of the time, by the time he realizes what he did, we think it’s just too little too late! Reggie Bush decided last week, it was finally time to start mending his broken relationship with USC.

The new USC Athletic Director Pat Haden, told US Today that the former Heisman Trophy winner apologized to him in a phone call last week. “He’s really contrite. He knows he made a series of mistakes. It wasn’t just one mistake. It was a series of mistakes,” Haden said. Bush said, “If I could turn the clock back, I would. If I could give the Heisman Trophy back, I would.”

Even with this apology, one of the greatest players to come out of the USC football program has been banned from visiting the school. The school has completely disassociated itself from the Saints running back. They took down all images of Bush and sent his trophy a packin’.  Bush is now focusing on New Orleans Training camp and said this about repairing his relationship with his alma mater: “I hope someday at some point it can be repaired, we’ll see what happens. That’s all I can do.”

THE NCAA SMACK DOWN

Posted: June 13, 2010 by NattieLiz in Fans, NCAA Basketball, NCAA Football, USC

The NCAA has made its decision in the case against USC and its laundry list of infractions dating back to 2004. The Trojans will lose 30 scholarships over the next 3 recruiting seasons and cannot participate in a bowl game the next two years. U.S.C. will also be forced to vacate all victories beginning in December 2004 — including the Trojans’ BCS title in January 2005. The harshest of these penalties stem from the improper benefits said to be received by Reggie Bush and Basketball player, O.J. Mayo. The school lacked total control of its athletic program and disregarded the NCAA’s compliance rules.

The football team may have received the hardest blow, but lets not forget its the athletic program as a whole. The basketball team was forced to vacate its victories from the 06-07 season and forfeited one scholarship. The Trojan team has also been barred from the 2010 postseason. The university will also return the $206,200 it received for participating in the 2008 N.C.A.A. tournament. The women’s tennis program was also penalized because a player used a university credit card to make $7,000 worth of international phone calls….(I’d personally love to meet this idiot)

Just to put the icing on the cake, the current Junior and Senior athletes are allowed to transfer to any other non Pac-10 football program and not have to sit out, they will have immediate play…. PEACE OUT SC! The University has admitted guilt but claims the punishment received is too harsh, so they plan on setting up an appeal. Good Luck with that guys, I think its time to cut your loses and start to rebuild with integrity this time around.
